The menu at Comme Chez Soi centers around three types of food: pizzas, baguette sandwiches and spaghetti.
The restaurant also offers a wide variety of wines by the glass or by the bottle.

Hidden away within the Nongchanh Water Park is this great little Turkish restaurant. If you have never tried Turkish food or if you are already a fan, the quiet surroundings of Istanbul offer a relaxing spot to enjoy a Turkish style coffee.
Istanbul has a nice selection of foods to choose from. All entrees come with an appetizer of sliced baguette pieces with three different dips: eggplant, roasted red pepper and a vegetable yogurt mixture. The best options for vegetarians are the falafel and salads.
For families with the children, Istanbul has some great benefits. The restaurant is in the main courtyard area of the water park and has a wonderful play area. The restaurant also has nice sturdy unbreakable wooden tables, a feature often overlooked by restaurant owners, which provide a worry free environment for eating.
Open everyday from 10am to 9pm.

Liaoning dumplings have been staple fare of the expat community in Vientiane for quite a while now. The restaurant was even mentioned several times in Brett Dakin’s book Another Quiet American: Stories of Life in Laos
.
Liaoning is locally famous for serving a good selection of Chinese food with a focus obviously on dumplings. One can enjoy a variety of meat or vegetarian dumplings and have them fried, steamed or boiled.
The original Liaoning restaurant is located on the west side of town in the Silom area and quickly becomes crowded during lunch and dinner
. Fortunately, Liaoning has opened a second restaurant on the east side of town on Rue Lao-Thai.
Both locations can accommodate groups up to 12 while the new location may be able to handle more with some advance notice.
Neither location has a high chair. Bringing toddlers can be difficult as both locations have glass tables as well as many other breakable objects.
Open everyday from 9am to 10pm

Going out to eat with the kids can be a bit of a challenge in Vientiane, especially if you have toddlers or pre-schoolers. When they’re babies they’ll sit
in their car seat or stroller. If you’re lucky, the waiters may even take them off to visit the kitchen staff for a while. But once they’re toddlers they want to walk all over the place and grab everything in sight, which usually keeps the parents from being able to eat their food
while it is still hot.
If this sounds like your family then the Nongchanh Water Park is the place for you. There are two restaurants on the water park grounds, Joma and Istanbul Restaurant. You don’t need to purchase tickets to the water park to
eat at either establishment. Both restaurants have outside seating with a perfect view of a small grassy play area with two swing sets. This provides a great place for kids to run around while the parents relax and eat their meal. There is also a large open courtyard that gives children room to roam while remaining safely in sight.
So, the next time you’re planning on going out to eat with the whole family, keep Joma or Istanbul Restaurant in mind. Who knows, you might be able to eat your meal before it gets cold.
